“Electric Elephants” was inspired by a Watercolor class by Lian Quan Zhen where the colors are not as important as the values – lights and darks – to create the painting.
I found a way to lay down a backdrop of pastels that the elephants are created by adding darker inks. Using only 3 hues and 6 inks this is a really fun painting presented in 1 1/2 hours of narrated videos.
Students that have had brush skills in Level 2 are ready for this painting. New students should consider taking the Brush Skills Short Course to accompany this course.
